Bottle recycling fundraising
We are looking for volunteers in Holland who would be willing to ask your local supermarkets if they would agree to work with us on a successful fundraising project that we started in the region of Amersfoort where we place a pod + information near the bottle recycling machine and the customers can donate their recycling ticket to MPC.   1. Design and building of first enclosures for a rescue center in Morocco for confiscated macaques.
  2. Food and medical equipment for the macaques once the rescue centers are up and running

  5. Flights between Amsterdam and Morocco
  6. Running costs of the foundation

Please send us all reports of macaques that you see or hear of that are for sale or kept as a pet or smuggled in and out of Morocco.
 
What can you do when you are in Morocco on holiday or travelling:
 
  • Do not EVER buy a macaque from a seller, even out of sympathy.  This will only stimulate the trade further, for the one individual that you save many others will follow.
  • If you see a macaque for sale, contact the local department of Eaux et Fôrets, the responsible authorities, and ask them to confiscate it.
  • Show your disapprovement of the trade when you see a macaque for sale. Tell the seller you find it unacceptable.
  • Do not EVER take a picture with a macaque that is offered to you like on the square in Marrakech. Show the handlers that you disapprove of this.
  • Write a letter to the Haut Commissariat aux Eaux et Fôrets in Rabat and ask them to put a halt to the illegal trade in Barbary macaque infants. Address: 3, Rue Haroun Errachid, Agdal, Rabat - Morocco 
  • Take pictures of wildlife trade that you encounter whenever you can and send these pictures to us please. Also let us know where you took the pictures.
